The 5 C’s That Your Start-up Needs to Succeed:

Below is a list of the 5 c's that you will need in order to keep your start-up alive and running smoothly. Skip any one of these at your own peril. So here they are:

1) Capital
2) Colleagues
3) Customers
4) Competition
5) Community

Capital - This will be the lifeblood of your star-up and is the first "C" on the list. If you're not lucky enough to be one of the start-ups that received funding from a hedge fund manager or a group of elite deep-pocket venture capitalists, then you had better be prepared to pull up your boots and start selling your business idea to any potential investor that might be interested.

Colleagues - While you may be the "A" type personality type who is a go-getter and very ambitious and feels that your way is the right way, you are going to need to surround yourself with high-quality co-workers or partners. You cannot possibly be great at everything, and who wants to be. So you will need to hire top notch professionals in these main areas of expertise. You will need a Tech Guru, An Amazing and Honest Bookkeeper, A Stellar Salesperson, and Executive partners that can contribute to the team as much as you can.

Customers - This one goes without saying. Without clients or customers, your start-up will be dead in the water. You need to focus on generating new business and getting clients that will generate revenue for your business for years to come. 5. What areas of your competition need improvement, where you can go in and fix with your business?

 

Community - Building up a community of like-minded individuals takes time and effort but is essential to growing your start-up. Decide and create a place where you can socialize, either online in places like facebook, or at meeting points local in your community. Reach out to these types of people in your community and stay in touch and build relationships.
